【Yamagata】Significant Yield Increase Achieved through the Synergistic Effect of Solar Radiation-Proportional Irrigation and Oxygen Nano bubble!!

Yamagata Prefecture
Mr. Yoshihiro Kikuchi

He has 30 years of cultivation experience. Belonging to the ‘Oe Tomato Club,’ a group of 12 farmers from Oe Town and Sagae City, he cultivates summer and autumn tomatoes for shipment from June to November.

Holding the qualification of ‘Eco Farmer,’ he practices environmentally conscious agriculture, incorporating organic fertilizers for soil improvement and employing reduced pesticide cultivation methods, reflecting consumer feedback in his farming practices.

Why did you choose to adopt Nano Bubbles?

The decision to integrate this technology into our operations stemmed from an invitation during a JA Sagae branch meeting. Kakuichi presented the opportunity, saying, ‘We’re actively seeking monitors. How about giving it a try?’ Intrigued by the prospect, I decided to explore its potential and, as a result, began incorporating it into our practices.

How effective was the Nano Bubble technology?

For the first three years, there were no noticeable changes at all. Last year, however, things took a surprising turn. After modifying the nano bubble generator and adjusting the oxygen supply to Kakuichi’s recommended levels, a single branch exploded with about 10 large tomatoes, forming a spectacular cluster. All the neighboring farmers, upon seeing it, are in a state of astonishment.

In my 30 years of experience, I have never witnessed such a transformation.
I can’t wait for this season’s harvest.

How do you approach fertilizer absorption?

Since implementing solar radiation proportional irrigation and Nano bubble, the irrigation volume has increased, but the fertilizer has not. Despite this, the enlargement of the tomatoes and the increased yield suggest that the plants are absorbing nutrients from the soil through the effects of Nano bubble. I look forward to examining the soil analysis results after this season’s harvest.”

Future Verification

Kakuichi proposed ‘Bubble Control,’ adjusting the oxygen levels according to the growth stage for the upcoming season. However, whether it’s the excellent compatibility with last year’s introduction of solar radiation proportional irrigation and oxygen Nano bubble, or the increased effect of raising the oxygen supply settings, is still unclear.

Personally, I would like to continue with the current settings for another year.
Regardless, I strongly feel that Nano bubble is a significant contributor to the increased yield. To ensure a stable yield in the future, not leaving it to chance, I plan to provide Kakuichi with data on environmental sensor readings, post-cultivation soil tests, yield, and premium product rates for three test zone: “Control”, “Nano-bubble with Pressurized Dissolution method”, and “Nano bubble with Cavitation + Pressurized Dissolution”.

This will help establish clear benchmarks for optimal values in greenhouse cultivation of summer and autumn tomatoes.
