【Kumamoto】Nanobubbles make a big difference in rooting! Cultivation of high value-added tomatoes
Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture
Mr, Kunimitsu Sotetsu
The cultivated land was originally part of the sea, located along the coast or in reclaimed areas, resulting in soil with salt content.
Therefore, even with the same amount of water, there are areas where the sugar content increases and areas where it does not.
Despite the challenging, nature of the soil, Mr. Sotetsu earnestly confronts the characteristics of his own soil and cultivates salt tomatoes that can only be produced in this soil.
With the words from customers, “It truly is the best,” in his heart, Mr. SOTETSU continues to cultivate salt tomatoes that bring more and more smiles to customers.
With 43 years of cultivation experience, he remains dedicated to perfecting the art of cultivating salt tomatoes.
Why did you introduce Nano Bubbles?
I knew about the Nano Bubble technology before I was introduced and had always wanted to introduce such a machine if one existed.
At that time, I was told by a Kakuichi representative that they were looking for farmers to monitor and verify the use of Nano Bubble generators, so I raised my hand and decided to install a Nano Bubble generator.
How did you find Nano Bubble’s effectiveness?
I sow and nurture from the seeds.
When I use Nano Bubbles for watering during the seedling stage, the root system’s development is significantly different.
The NB-treated area exhibits a remarkable growth of roots, to the extent that they become hard to pull out from the pots.
The difference is so pronounced that it leaves one impressed.
As the saying goes, “Half of the crop is determined by the quality of the seedlings,” the water management during the seedling stage has a lasting impact until the later stages. Therefore, the initial stages are crucial for successful cultivation.
What have you changed since you started Oxygen Nano Bubble irrigation?
I have been using Nano Bubbles for irrigation since planting, and the growth has been good since then, with strong vigor and no fruit drop.
However, the vigor of the trees was good, so the balls were thicker, but sometimes it took longer for the sugar content to increase.
The difference was also seen in comparison with plots where Nano Bubbles were not used.
Since the trees in the Nano Bubble zone grew more vigorously and quickly, if the same care was taken as in the control zone, the timing of fertilizer application would be noticed later, so it is necessary to monitor and control the situation.
When nanobubbles are used, fertilizer must be applied earlier to increase the amount of fertilizer absorbed by the plants.
This is knowledge that can only be gained through actual experience.
I feel that farming is a learning process every year!
