Mr. Kawashima grows JA Kumamoto Uki’s original brand “Orange Heart Melons.
Orange Heart melons are a red-fleshed variety, but they do not have the carotene smell characteristic of red-fleshed melons, and the flesh is fine-textured with excellent mouthfeel.
 
As the name suggests, the melon has bright orange flesh and a guaranteed sugar content of 16 degrees, making it an unforgettable melon once tasted.
 
Mr. Kawashima has 43 years of experience in growing melons. (15 years for orange heart melons)
 

Why did you introduce Nano Bubbles?

The prefectural government had been holding Nano Bubble training sessions, and nanobubbles had been a topic of conversation since before the introduction (about 6 years ago).
 
There were several companies in Kumamoto that sold Nano Bubble generators, but they only sold air bubbles, while Kakuichi’s device could add gas and contain oxygen nanobubbles, so I decided on the Kakuichi Nano Bubble generator.

How did you find Nano Bubble’s effectiveness?

The melons are enlarged by breaking the net due to internal pressure, and the use of Nano Bubble increases the internal pressure. This increases enlargement, and many large 6L melons can be harvested.

What have you changed since you started Oxygen Nano Bubble irrigation?

The amount of irrigation was almost unchanged, but the nitrogen component was increased by 1.2 times.
 
The fertilizer design needs to be reviewed, as the Nano Bubble’s ability to absorb nitrogen quickly can cause the plants to become exhausted in the latter half of the season.
